  1. “For over a thousand years, Roman conquerors
returning from the wars enjoyed the honor of a triumph – a
tumultuous parade. In the procession came trumpeters and musicians
and strange animals from the conquered territories, together with
carts laden with treasure and captured armaments. The conqueror
rode in a triumphal chariot, the dazed prisoners walking in chains
before him. Sometimes his children, robed in white, stood with him
in the chariot, or rode the trace horses. A slave stood behind the
conqueror, holding a golden crown, and whispering in his ear a
warning: that all glory is fleeting.”

    • Good quote, Pat. Very appropriate. I believe that it’s from Gen. George Patton, of all people. Or is it just from the movie “Patton”?

But let’s let Obama bask in the fleeting glory for a day or two. OK?

  2. Obama picking up after Dubby once again. Dubby’s contribution to the military? He went AWOL and got us into two wars of choice with 100,000+ dead.
The classy GOPers have congratulated Obama, the others not.
