The blog authors are unapologetic progressives, but we welcome participation from intelligent, conservative commenters who are able - and willing - to make cogent arguments for conservative principles without resorting to outrageous lies, racist nonsense, ad hominem irrelevancies, or childish gay-bashing.
We're serious! Are you out there? Do you even exist? Please come on in and show us! We enjoy the sound of clashing opinions - without all the lying and shouting that too often accompanies political discussion. The well-informed and razor-sharp progressive minds in residence here look forward to engaging with you.
We really do!
"Reality has a well-known liberal bias." - Stephen Colbert
"There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs." - Kung Fu Monkey

Oh, to be in college again….
by graychin October 5, 2010 at 4:24 pmYeah if you could just stick to the fun parts. But UM is hard work if you want a degree – only other smart folks there – of course that is fun too.
by bvilleyellowdog October 5, 2010 at 6:47 pmha ha.. I always knew you guys were YANKEES!! bhahah!
by Black Swan October 6, 2010 at 12:07 pmBIG TEN RULES!

They sound awful – especially the singer. But the lead guitar is pretty good.
by graychin October 6, 2010 at 3:45 pmPurple Haze is one of the most played and the most poorly played. Jimmy did it best.
How does what prove we Yanks? ‘Cause my kid has good taste and picked UM? Was exposed to the liberal world at music camp and never looked back…all the college choices were in blue states.
by bvilleyellowdog October 6, 2010 at 6:27 pmHow does someone from Chicago call anyone a “Yank”?
by graychin October 6, 2010 at 6:43 pmReally! I think she means it as a compliment. That is the way I take it 🙂
by bvilleyellowdog October 6, 2010 at 7:34 pmOf course it’s a compliment. But around here and in much of the south, a “Yankee” is anyone who lives north of you. Bville and Eucha are both north of Sand Springs.
Around the Calumet, I guess anyone from Chicago itself is a Yankee.
by graychin October 6, 2010 at 11:01 pmLOL!!!! I is a Region RAT.. an industrial one at that.. It was a compliment.. Hey, at least those kids try.. some don’t know Purple Haze.. SAD. Nearly every Big 10 football game is sold out meaning over 70K.. some. Unreal. What a beautiful day it is here in Oklahoma.. make me remember this stuff..
