Willfully Ignorant….

April 19, 2010

Calling the tea baggers “populist” is something conservative pundits do just to confuse the issue. And it works, because even though tea baggers are, in reality, highly privileged people who are motivated by a mean urge to sneer at and beat down the people they think are beneath them, they also come across as giant fucking morons. Which they are! But alas, the problem has nothing to do with lack of education. They have plenty of degrees and access to learning. But you can lead a horse to water, you know?

No, tea baggers believe stupid shit because they want to. It’s willful ignorance. They spin outrageous theories because they know that the naked truth about what they believe would make them look like giant bigots and big meanies. So, instead of saying, “I don’t want health care reform because I like a system where poor people are shut out because that means I don’t have to see them in my doctor’s office,” they start yelling about the slide into socialism. Instead of saying, “I’m an incredibly selfish person who wants to keep my government-funded Medicare, but I don’t want to see that single mom down the street get health insurance because she’s a slut and I want to see her suffer,” they say that Obama’s trying to take their Medicare and that’s socialism. They’re not confused because they were badly educated and don’t have a grasp on critical thinking. In fact, I think a lot of us would be surprised to find that the person hollering ignorant shit about Obama’s birth certificate often turns around and is highly competent at a job that requires the cognitive skills they don’t bring to their politics. They’re willfully ignorant, and this distinction should never be forgotten when trying to understand them.

  1. So true.

  2. I see Yellow is proving himself a typical liberal by using words like Moran.

Are you going to boot him for that Gray?

So TN is run in the BLACK (conservative state) and California is going to need a bailout (liberal state).

Tell me Gray…………you have a degree from one of the most Prestigious Universities in the country. You can pretty much write your own ticket. YET you live in a place where the people make you sick??? I’m sure you have cashed in on that degree and could live maybe anywhere in the world. Yet you chose a bigotted state like Sooner Land.

Why not live in liberal bankrupt heaven California? Where entitlements and homosexuality are embraced.

I’m thinking quality of life, crime rate, cost of living, taxes , etc….. I think those and many other reasons are why you have choses your lovely RED state. Maybe you don’t like the diverse ethnicity that California provides???

Notice I didn’t feel the need to call Yellow a moran. Yellow fits better now that I think about it.

  3. “Tennessee lawmakers began a new session of the General Assembly yesterday facing the challenge of balancing a state budget with what may be a nearly billion dollar shortfall.

The current year’s budget includes a 10 percent reduction in the state budget, though many of those cuts were softened by the $2.2 billion in stimulus money that Tennessee received. And though the State Funding Board has projected that state revenues will modestly increase during the upcoming budget year, this growth will not be nearly enough to make up for the loss of the stimulus funds.

The Governor is asking state agencies for proposals cutting between 6 percent and 9 percent from their spending plans for this budget year. Of particular concern are cuts to vital mental health care programs that are already underfunded.”

LOL TN is doing a GREAT JOB… still fact free…

  4. haha yes they are asking for spending cuts. Liberals wouldn’t know what spending cuts are or how to approach them.

So yellow why do you live in that bigot state? Or do you? Maybe you live in Pelosi Land?

Which future Obama Policy will create the more private sector jobs?
    1.) Government Run Health Care
2.) Raising the corporate tax rate from 40 to 45%
3.) Empowering unionism with card check
4.) Letting the Bush Tax Cuts expire
5.) Running up the deficit above 12 trillion
6.) Raising the debt ceiling to 14 trillion
7.) Repealing LIFO accounting in the 2011 budget
    8) Cap and Tax
    9) Committing more US Taxpayer dollars to the third world to fight Global Warming
    10) Empowering the EPA to create new more restrictive regulation for US Industry
    11) Raising taxes on small business owners who make />250K per year
    12) Legislating a Bank Tax planned to rake in 9 billion per year from US Financial Market to pay for TARP.
    13) Giving Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae a blank TARP check to make more bad loans
    14) Taxing the Banks to continue to fund Freddie and Fannie bad management
15.) Paying companies $5000 to hire employees for $50,000/year
16.) Taking over the student loan industry… (pucker up for some corruption and the next bubble)
17.) Trying to borrow another trillion from the Chinese (who are growing less interested in Treasuries)
18.) VAT tax—really worked to push the European economy into the dumper.

  5. $13.5 Trillion of New Debt: The president’s budget proposes to increase the national debt from today’s level of $12.3 trillion to $25.8 trillion in FY 2020 an increase of $13.5 trillion or 109.8%. The amount of new debt proposed by this budget is larger than the total amount of debt accumulated by the federal government from 1789 to today (even including the $3.6 trillion of new debt over the last three years).

  6. Your Stimulus Plan

    10. $1.7 million “for a honey bee factory” in Weslaco, TX
    9. $475,000 to build a parking garage in Provo City, Utah
    8. $200,000 for a tattoo removal violence outreach program that could help gang
    7. $300,000 for the Montana World Trade Center
    6. $1 million for Mormon cricket control in Utah
    5. $650,000 for beaver management in North Carolina and Mississippi
    4. $2.1 million for the Center for Grape Genetics in New York
    3. $332,000 for the design and construction of a school sidewalk in Franklin, Texas
    2. $2 million “for the promotion of astronomy” in Hawaii
    1. $1.7 million for pig odor research in Iowa

  7. Retire to Arkansas

Tom had been in business for 25 years. Finally sick of the stress, he quits his job and buys 50 acres of land in Arkansas as far from humanity as possible. He sees the postman once a week and gets groceries once a month. Otherwise it’s total peace and quiet.
After six months or so of almost total isolation, someone knocks on his door. He opens it and a huge, bearded man is standing there.

‘Name’s Cliff, your neighbor from forty miles up the road. Having a Christmas party Friday night. Thought you might like to come at about 5:00…’

‘Great’, says Tom, ‘after six months out here I’m ready to meet some local folks Thank you.’

As Cliff is leaving, he stops. ‘Gotta warn you.
    Be some drinking’.’

‘Not a problem’ says Tom. ‘After 25 years in the business, I can drink with the best of ’em’.

Again, the big man starts to leave and stops.
‘More ‘n’ likely gonna be some fighting’ too.’

‘Well, I get along with people, I’ll be all right! .
    I’ll be there. Thanks again.’

‘More’n likely be some wild sex, too,’

‘Now that’s really not a problem’ says Tom, warming to the idea. ‘I’ve been all alone for six months! I’ll definitely be there. By the way, what should I wear?’

‘Don’t much matter. Just gonna be the two of us..’

  8. So I prove your lie…and you blow it off..then repeat the same false description of the Dems plan that you did several days ago.

    Lie until they buy?

    Your willful ignorance is showing….

The funny thing about those stimulus projects is that most are in red states and the local Congress critters were there bragging. Another is that if you knew any science you would know that some of the projects are valuable – probably all of them. It is also customary here to site your sources… That was cribbed from John “I was never a Maverick” McSame..

  9. I didn’t blow it off. I am going to look up your infor tomorrow.

Oh and a lie and being wrong are two totally different issues. If someone is wrong it does not make them a liar unless they knowingly provided false info……. Example= Obama saying all these bills would be on the net three days before a vote.

but as you said they are facing a “short fall”..

Md faced one almost every year and still came out in the black or close enough. ( a liberal state that knows how to handle a budget or did) I have not paid attention for the last five years so they may be in the red. I do know both sides are calling for O’Malley’s head. It’s a shame because he came with a lot of promise. We all liked him. But like I’ve said it might be uncalled for as I have put Md Politic in the rear view.

    • Rock, you should know that in Catholic theology, ignorance is an excuse for a wrong act but willful ignorance is not.

      “Knew or should have known….”

  10. site your source

    —————————

haha Gray doesn’t need to site his source. It’s always Huffington. The Left Fox.

So Yellow why do you live in a bigot state? I am quoting Gray on that as I have never been to your fair state. Maybe one day. Or do you not hate white people as he does so.

    • Rockfish, what was your source for your nonsense about California having high property taxes? Rush? Glenn Beck?

  11. Being willfully wrong is a lie… Read the post at the top….describes you to a T.

I was not asking about Chin’s sources – but yours. Always diverting – standard ploy when a blogger is wrong.

Chin seldom quotes Huffpost and neither do I. There are better sources.

I don’t recall saying I hate white folks. Again read the post – it it about you…and your hate.

  12. Rockfish, I see that you posted that same cut-and-paste that you posted the other day. Do you even know what LIFO accounting is?

    Willfully ignorant!

  13. I’m just pleased that it appears that April 19th has come and (almost) gone without a terrorist act from right-wing goons. They’ve been spouting some serious rhetoric which is likely to incite violence from one of their less than stable members.

  14. Yes PL – there are bound to be a few more unstable crackpots out there. There have already been too many. So far “just a few” killed – will there be another OKC to thank Limbo and Beck and Faux for?
    The odds seem high.

  15. “Rockfish, what was your source for your nonsense about California having high property taxes? Rush? Glenn Beck?”

or the source about Tennessee’s great financial state – that a few seconds search debunked?

  16. No, tea baggers believe stupid shit because they want to. It’s willful ignorance. They spin outrageous theories because they know that the naked truth about what they believe would make them look like giant bigots and big meanies.

    =====================================

meanies???? Please tell me which one of you reads a FAG website that uses a word like “meanie”.

Why do you live in a bigot state Gray? you went to Notre Dame and should have mounds of money to live wherever you like. You just like being around all white people don’t ya?

    • Rockfish, we’re not going to tolerate anti-gay slurs here either. Do you think that you can manage to restrain yourself from both racist AND anti-gay language? I know it’s difficult for you to speak a language other than your native tongue, but do your best. OK?

I like it here in the Ozarks. We don’t have many black people here, but we do have a bit of racial tension between whites and Indians. It’s part of the human condition, I guess. We all want to feel superior to someone else.

And I certainly don’t live here because of the low crime rate. Don’t you read the Tulsa World any more? This part of the state seems to be the meth (redneck cocaine) capital of the universe. (If we could just do something about all those white people who live here….)

I don’t have mountains of money like you think. The cost of living is low here. You saw what I said about the price of the average house in OK vs. California. If I had all that money I might have a place overlooking Lake Tahoe or the Grand Tetons rather than the Lake O’ the Cherokees. Besides, ignorance like you show can be found everywhere. We only have a bit higher-than-average concentration of it here in Oklahoma.

  17. Time to Bozo the troll – poof….

    • We’re not going to bozo him yet, Dog. I’m giving him just a bit more rope……

Obviously, it won’t be long. He might not even last the day.

I’m keeping a text file of his willful misstatements of fact, racial allusions and anti-gay slurs. I’ll post it upon his departure, then send it to Blue and ask her to forward to him.

    • He’s gone. He can’t say we didn’t warn him.

He said something vile, then announced “There that should do it. One less blog site to worry about.”

    • On second thought, I’m not going to post the anti-gay slurs that he made on his way out the door (frequent use of the three-letter “F word).” And we’ve already addressed most of his willful misstatements of fact.

      Forget him. Onward and upward.

  18. Good. What a jerk.

  19. Many of the most anti-gay regressives are gay. Haggard, Mark Foley, Larry Craig…..makes yah wonder…

    http://www.badmouth.net/top-five-republican-gay-sex-scandals/

  20. The Tea Party movement would be welled served to avoid making erroneous statements such as being over-taxed…and focus more on excessive government spending! I’m not aware of anyone being additionally taxed under the Obama admin. Of course…that doesn’t mean that it will not happen!

You have to admit…the great divide in our nation as gotten noticeably deeper since Obama became president. Is it because he is black? Maybe…who knows…being born and raised in Oklahoma…i will have to admit to my own levels of prejudice…but it’s not littered with dumbed down hate…and certainly not hate for our President…

As far as being another mis-informed conservative…that might be true…but I certainly have a dog in the fight when it comes to health care reform…and I have my concerns as to the effectiveness of a quickly made plan that attempts to solve a system that is horribly complicated!

The continued paranoid rhetoric from both sides of the fence has gotten way out of hand…and if we stay on the current course, we will “ALL” inevitably fail…I’d like to start my own party called: Tired of all the BS…ultimately…I feel as if most of us are looking for the same thing out of life…health, safety, economic stability, and freedom…we just have different ideas about how to get there!

    • We all value those things (health, safety, economic stability and freedom) but many of us put them in second place, well behind blind ideology and irrational tribal bigotry.

I believe that the surprising amount of Obama hatred is rooted in anti-black racism. An astonishing number of people respond that Obama “does not care about people like me” – which translates to him supposedly caring more about people like “them.” He is viewed as alien and foreign (Kenyan, Muslim, ACORN-promoting, terrorist-palling etc.), when he’s really as typically middle-class American as baseball.

Bush only cared about the wealthiest 1% of Americans, which does not include people like myself or most of his supporters. But of course the wealthiest 1% are noticeably white.

  21. “I have my concerns as to the effectiveness of a quickly made plan that attempts to solve a system that is horribly complicated!”

Quickly made??? Give me a break. How many generations did it take? That was just McConnell and Cantor talk for “kill it”

“focus more on excessive government spending” Which spending is that? When asked they cannot tell you. Perhaps you will provide us a list?

And you are not being paranoid when you have idiots slinging guns around….the paranoia is from the right.

  22. I really do not believe ALL the Obama hatred is racist. I think it may be cumulative. He is painted as a liberal (which he is not) and they have been taught to hate liberals. They have labeled his policies socialism and communism (which they are not) and anti-gun (again, false). The fact that he is (1/2) black probably adds to their hatred of him, but it mainly is that he is a Democrat, and they will do whatever it takes to smear Democrats and prevent progress.

For the Republicans (Tea-Baggers, whatever you wish to call them) it’s all about “winning” politically so that they can better provide for their corporate pimps.

  23. No it is not all about race. The race thing is still another reminder that thier time is past. 48% of US births in 2008 were non-white. In 16 years they will be voters. The demographics are against old, white, “christian,” males.

An excellent article on getting their country back:

  24. Where did you guys find ROCKFISH? Trust me he’s not my kind of conservative. You may not agree with lifestyles but you don’t bash them.

    • We didn’t find Rockfish – he found us. He used to hang out at the Tulsa World before getting booted there, and I think that he and Blue are buddies.

I know he isn’t your kind of “conservative.” I wish I could say that he’s in a class by himself, but he’s not. I think he would fit in perfectly at a Tea Party with his misinformation, racism and homophobia.

Thanks to him, I can no longer say that I have never deleted a comment. I had to deleted five of his for being vile before blocking him entirely.

It’s good to see you. Don’t stay away so much. I know it’s lonely for you here, but we’re still looking for civil and intelligent conservatives. Rockfish obviously didn’t fit that profile – he’s neither civil nor intelligent.

    • And did you see the comments from the illiterate moron who called himself “murderer”? All he did while here was say things like “Now, ain’t that just like a liberal?” (You could substitute almost anything there for “liberal” and and it’s the same old thinking in stereotypes. I first heard that phrase in college, with the “n-word” substituted for liberal.)

Murderer left on his own, calling us a bunch of “loosers” on his way out the door! 😀
